Firefox
Features #3 and #4
#3 Downloads Are A Breeze in
Firefox! Files can be
downloaded on your desktop, or in a designated
folder; its up to you. All downloads are
tracked in one on-screen box, and "clean
up" after downloading is easy. In the
screenshot to the right, you can see the
download box. Arrow 1 shows the Firefox
browser being downloaded. Thegreen bar
indicates progress.
Firefox gives you the
option to open or remove a downloaded file
right from this box (Arrow 2). By default,
files are downloaded to
the desktop where it is easy to find them
(arrow 3)! Note the "Clean Up" button in the
lower right of the box. After a while you will
want to click on this button to clear out
the download manager. This does not delete
any of the files that you have
downloaded.
#4 Security, Security,
Security. Did I say security?
Firefox is considered
extremely secure, both for home and
business use. It does not support ActiveX or
other scripts that are a prime source
of problems in some other browsers.
And it is not integrated with Windows, which
also enhances security. Cookies can be
customized, and the best news of all is
that pop-ups are automatically
blocked! Firefox
is highly recommended for this feature
alone.
According to the
Firefox website, "Firefox
keeps you secure when you’re browsing the Web,
closing the door on spyware, worms, and
viruses. The Firefox community of developers
and security experts works around the clock to
monitor security issues and release updates to
better protect
you."
