FIREFOX FEATURES #1 AND #2

#1 Built In Search Box. You can search Google, Yahoo, or up to 100 search engines, from a search box built right in to the browser. Search the internet whenever you want, without having to load up a search engine page ever again (see orange arrow in screen shot below). Here, we've done a search for " ski vacations US" in Firefox which brings us to feature #2.

#2 Tabbed Browsing! This feature alone makes Firefox my top choice and it was the first to offer this feature. Instead of having to open a new browser window for each weblink you wish to view, you can open a tab, or two, or ten, all accessible from the same screen! After we've searched for "ski vacations US" from the built-in Google search box(orange arrow), the Google results page will open up in the browser window. (Only the top part of the results page is shown above).  Next, we decide which sites we want to visit as we scroll down the page.  Simply hold down the ctrl button and click on the chosen links. Say we choose three pages to look at mores closely. These pages will each open up in new tabs(see three blue arrows). The Google results page is the first tab, of course (without an arrow).

If we click on the second tab (green arrow in screen shot below), we'll be able to view that selected website in the same browser window.  You can open up many different links/pages this way, go back and forth between tabs to compare information, and close the ones you don't need. Open up a new tab with your online calendar to see when you can take vacation. The possibilities are endless.
